No solution yet in university collective bargaining

Motion Blur of People in the City

No solution has yet been found in the university collective bargaining. Negotiations on the reform of the university collective agreement have been ongoing since February. Unfortunately, no solution has been found so far.

Finnish Education Employers (Sivista), representing universities, and the employee unions JUKO, Pro, and JHL, convened yesterday, March 31st. Negotiations will continue later this week.

  • Negotiations on the university collective agreement started on 4th of February 2025.
  • Employees are represented in the negotiations by the Negotiation Organization for Public Sector Professionals (JUKO), Trade Union Pro and Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors (JHL). The employers’ side is represented by Finnish Education Employers.
  • There are 13 universities in Finland, employing a total of 35 000 people.
